Day - 4 - Keep it moving

OK, I figured out the Chocolate thing. I remember seeing some sugar-free dark-chocolate covered almonds at Trader Joes.

THE CURRENT LIST
So here is what the list currently looks like (I have 3 now)

1. Some time off (Great idea from yesterday)
2. Dark Chocolate Almonds
And 3. Flowers (the old stand-by...)

Getting Help
Please send this blog to everyone you know. My hope is that the combined wisdom of the web can out-match the combined wisdom of well... me.

Now day 4; Keep it moving....

She is active... VERY active. First, we have 'a handfull' of kids so that keeps her moving all the time, every which way. In addition she also enjoys being active and about. So for day 4 I am trying to figure out something that would fit with someone that is active...all the time.

  1. First off, I have to say, I love this idea. The blog & all!

She enjoys being active...does she work out? Jog? Go walking? Does she have an MP3 player to keep her company? They have small very affordable ones. You could pick one up & if you're feeling exceptionally romantic, pre-load it with her favorite songs.

Or (and I realize this may be right up there with a toaster for V-day) some new, fancy, super comfy sneakers. Happy feet=Happy mom.

  2. Sorry I missed yesterday's post about the chocolate. GOOD CALL about NOT getting the chocolate Slim-Fast. ;-) And dark chocolate almonds sound wonderful.

About being active . . . hmmm. I like the idea of the MP3 if she doesn't already have one.

Does she like coffee? Starbucks? Maybe a gift card for Starbucks so that she can get her favorite beverage when she is out and about. I'm not a coffee drinker, but it's so nice to be on the way somewhere and be able to stop and grab a cup of hot tea. There's also a Starbucks in our local Barnes & Noble so that also might go well with the day of nothing!

  4. Keeping active...without making it appear that you're sending the irrevocable message about her body...

I like the MP3 idea, and the gift certificate to the mall, and the Starbuck's...but what would really do it for me, as mom to 2 who is constantly active? I'd LOVE my hubby to provide me with an entire day of being all by myself. Not sure if this is do-able for you with your handful, but what about getting her a certificate for something pampering (massage, pedicure), or arranging with some of her girlfriends to meet for lunch, or coffee...tell her to get her hair done, whatever! The day is hers to do with as she pleases...then she can be active or relaxing, whatever she sees fit!

This is a FABULOUS idea by the way, and I hope that it spreads to your friends, and you keep it going for ALL events during the year when you want her to feel extra special and more loved than she already must!

    Good on you!

  6. What if you made some homemade bath soak type stuff for after her workout?

This is one place that has recipes like that, but there are lots on the web:

  7. I'm a new mom, so I can't exactly leave my baby and go for a jog like I used to, but I bet arranging for a babysitter to offer her a couple hours away to go do whatever she wants would be appreciated. I know that's something I'd want - heck, even having my mom or husband hang out with our little guy so I can go take a sitz bath and read a chapter in a book is better than chocolate right now.

Also, I LOVE it when my husband leaves me notes describing his gratitude for what I do and telling me why he loves me. He leaves them on the kitchen table for me to find when he's off to work.

  8. OK.... This is fantastic ! I really like the MP3 Player idea, and loading it with songs. I gave her an MP3 player about a year ago but she never uses it. HOWEVER, if it were loaded with the right stuff I am sure she would use it.

    Day 4 = MP3 Player + Songs

The problem is that the bath soap, mall, pampering and some time off also sound great.... OK I am going to put thoes into other days now...

    Tomorrow 'Pamering at home'
